Phone from the field - regardless of the weather

Overnight temps have been dropping down into the 50s here in northern Vermont which, to many, signals autumn's approach.

And for many of us the advent of autumn means hunting seasons are approaching.

A lot of hunters take their phones into the woods, fields and marshes these days. It makes sense.

Sometimes you have to stay in touch with the outside world. Sometimes you have to call a hunting partner and ask for help in dragging out a big one. Sometimes you need your camera to take photos. Sometimes you're on a marsh or a lake in inclement weather and you be better be prepared for an emergency.

And since hunters are often at the mercy of the elements, they risk having their phones ruined by rain, mud and snow whenever they venture afield.

Aquapac's Stormproof case - in orange even!
Aquapac's Stormproof phone cases are handy lightweight waterproof pouches offer phones excellent protection against the elements. I put my iPhone in one and tuck into in my Gore-Tex jacket on most of my hunts. I also keep my phone in one in my bird vest, which is filled with seeds, thorns and briars at the end of each day (and blood and feathers, hopefully). The case protects it from the dust, dirt and grime.

The cases are "use through" which means you can text a hunting partner on the next stand over or check the time without taking your phone out of the case. If you're into it, you could even read your email or call the neighborhood pizza joint on the way home to have a hot pie waiting for you when you climb out of your stand or blind.

Seriously, for $22.50, an Aquapac Stormproof case is one of those hunting accessories any hunter will appreciate this fall.
